Amazing Youth Exchange

done in Greece in October 2023

In October 2023, 70 young participants from Norway, Spain, and Greece came together in Greece under the Erasmus+ program for an inspiring youth exchange. Over several days, the group built connections, shared experiences, and grew both on and off the basketball court.

Basketball sessions were filled with energy, training and games bringing participants closer as they bonded through their shared love for the sport. Workshops covered important themes like respect, inclusion, communication, and teamwork, helping participants build skills that extended far beyond basketball.

The exchange was about more than just sports—it was about cultural understanding and celebrating diversity. Through shared activities, meaningful discussions, and new friendships, the participants left Greece with broadened perspectives and lasting memories.

Inspiring Coaching Exchange In Norway In September 2023

From September 8–10, 2023, Sport4Understanding, NBBF, and Ulm Basketball Club collaborated under the Erasmus+ initiative for a transformative coaching exchange in Oslo.

The program focused on developing "coach-power"—the ability to self-reflect, self-evaluate, and inspire young athletes. Workshops emphasized empathy, self-understanding, and the long-term impact of coaching. Coaches shared experiences, engaged in reflective exercises, and explored innovative leadership approaches.

Christine Lindholt-Wittusen from Bare Relasjoner led a pivotal session on self-awareness using the Enneagram of personality. Her session equipped coaches with tools to better understand their traits, challenges, and communication styles, fostering empathy, personal growth, and stronger connections with young players.

Highlights included engaging workshops at Norges Idrettshøyskole and vibrant discussions on strategies to retain young basketball players. The exchange strengthened collaboration and enriched coaching perspectives, leaving a meaningful legacy for both Norwegian and German basketball communities.
